Garland Funeral Home Obituaries Phyllis Thompson Visitation: Service: Phyllis J. Thompson, age 75, of 103 4th Street Walnut, Illinois died Sunday, February 18, 2007 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling. Mrs. Thompson was born on May 28, l931, the daughter of Arthur and Bernice (Dennison) Gramer. She was united in marriage to Joseph William “Bill” Thompson on November 27, 1948 in Kasbeer, Illinois. He preceded her in death on January 3, 1996. She was raised in the Walnut area and she and her husband farmed in the Harmon area for many years. She worked at Walnut Manor Nursing Home for 10 years. She also worked as a waitress, bartender and factory worker. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Walnut and the Happy Hookers Fishing Club. She enjoyed family and friends, crocheting, gardening and playing cards. She is survived by two daughters, Linda (Doug) Broers of Walnut, Illinois, Laurie (Randy) Full of Harmon, Illinois; four sons, Dan (Bonnie) Thompson of Harmon, Il, Joe (Bee-Ja) Thompson of Walnut, Illinois, Ed Thompson of Walnut, Il., Mike (CC ) Thompson of Harmon, Illinois; 16 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; one sister Joyce Enser of Minnesota; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Bob, one grandson Shane, one great grandson Noah, three brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at 1:30 p. m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut with the Rev. Brian Moore, pastor of the First Christian Church of Walnut. Burial will be in Walnut Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the Garland Funeral Home.
