Garland Funeral Home Obituaries Florence E. Scallan Visitation: Service: Florence E. Scallan, age 105, of Il. Hwy. 92, Ohio, Il. died Friday evening (Nov. 24,2006) at The Walnut Manor Nursing Home in Walnut. Florence was born on December 15, 1900 in Ohio, Il. the daughter of John and Elizabeth Quest Scallan. She was a homemaker and worked on the family farm during her lifetime and was very active until the last few months. She was featured in The Bureau County Republican Newspaper recently when she voted on election day. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ohio. She is survived by 1 sister Mary Charlotte Campbell of Aurora, Il. 3 nieces and 1 nephew Jean (David) Tess of Rochelle, Il., Susan (Charles) DuBose of Wheaton, Il., John (Sue) Scallan of Carpentersville, Il. and Nancy (Donald) Grasse of Flossmoor, Il. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers Ray, Leo, and Charles, and 1 sister Catherine. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ohio with Rev. Dan Wilder, pastor officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Ohio. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of mass at the church. The Garland Funeral Home in Walnut is in charge of the arrangements.
