Henry E. Nielsen, age 93 of 901 W. 3rd Street in Sterling, Illinois and formerly of Tampico, Illinois died Monday July 24, 2006 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling. He was born on December 11, 1912 in Tampico, Illinois, the son of Nels and Marie (Pedersen) Nielsen. He was united in marriage to Inez Belowske on June 28, 1939 in Morrison, Illinois and she preceded him in death on June 11, 1986. He then married Eileen Davis on December 13, 1987 in Tampico, Illinois. He farmed in the Tampico area during his lifetime. He was a member of the Tampico United Methodist Church, a former member of the Tampico Fire Department and the Sterling Moose Lodge #726. He also was a 75 year member of the Royal Neighbors. He enjoyed farming, fishing traveling and going to garage sales. He is survived by his wife Eileen of Sterling; Illinois two sons, Marlin (Cheryl) Nielsen of Tampico, Myron (Kathy) Nielsen El Cajon, California; two grandchildren, Greg (Vicky) Nielsen, Edward (Kris) Nielsen; six great grandchildren, three stepchildren, Rick (Maryse) Davis of Toulouse, France, Mary (Roger) Chriest of Rock Falls, Illinois, Paul (Sandy) Davis of Rock Falls, lllinois; 9 step grandchildren; 12 step great grandchildren; one sister in law Olive Nielsen of Tampico, Illinois and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, one brother and one sister. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Tampico United Methodist Church with the Rev. Monty Fox pastor officiating. Burial will be in Yorktown Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico.
