Mr. Fred A. Glassburn, age 68, of 3435 Backbone Road; Tampico, Il. died Saturday morning (Sept. 16,2006) at CGH Medical Center in Sterling, Il.
Mr. Glassburn was born on May 29, 1938 in Sterling, Il. the son of Stanley L. and Gladys E. McDonald Glassburn. He was united in marriage to Betty A. Casson on March 3,1962 at The Tampico United Methodist Church. He farmed in The Tampico area during his lifetime. He was a member of The Tampico United Methodist Church and he was a Tampico Fire Department Trustee for many years.
He is survived by his wife Betty of Tampico, 2 daughters Kim (John) Christiansen of Highlands Ranch, Colorado and Holly Glassburn of West Minster, Colorado, 2 sons Steve (Tonya) Glassburn of Tampico, Il. and Mike (Angie) Glassburn of Tampico,Il., 5 grandchildren, 1 brother Glenn Glassburn of Fredericksburg, Virginia, 1 sister Marlene Nelson of St. Petersburg, Florida, 1 uncle, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 10:30 AM in The Tampico United Methodist Church with Rev. Monty Fox, pastor officiating. Burial will be in Tampico Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5-8 PM in The Garland Funeral Home in Tampico. A MEMORIAL HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED IN HIS MEMORY TO THE TAMPICO UNITED METHODIST CHURCH AND THE TAMPICO RURAL FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT.
