Robert G. Bass - 90

Walnut - Robert G. Bass, age 90 of Walnut, Illinois died Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton, Illinois.

Bob was born on November 18, 1922 in Hamilton Township, Illinois, the son of Leo and Katherine (Spencer) Bass. He was united in marriage to Betty Paden on December 3, 1943 in Bloomington, Indiana. He served in the Combat Engineers of the United States 3rd Army under General George Patton in the Battle of the Bulge. Bob was a longtime poultry farmer.

Bob is survived by his wife Betty Bass of Walnut, Illinois; one son George Bass of Loves Park, Illinois; one daughter Anna (Ed) Donnelly of Walnut, Illinois; 5 grandchildren Seth (Nicole) Bass, James ( Jennifer) Donnelly, Erin (Matthew) Davis, Laurie (Diego) Pascual, Katherine Donnelly; 5 great grandchildren; one sister Janice Watkins of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Charles in infancy, one granddaughter Bridget and one sister Marilyn.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Garland Funeral Home with the Rev. Eldon Cook, pastor of the Walnut Community Bible Church, officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut. A MEMORIAL HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED IN HIS MEMORY.
