Walnut - Lorena K Wallace, age 84, died on Thursday January 10, 2013 at the Walnut Manor Nursing Home Walnut, Illinois.

She was born on November 29, 1928 in New Bedford, Illinois, the daughter of Alfred and Dollie (Johnston) Jensen. She was united in marriage to Marvin Wallace on March 14, 1948 in New Bedford, Illinois. He preceded her in death on November 17, 2001. She worked for Grennan and Harmon Elevator for many years and was an Avon Sales Represenative.

Lorena is survived by three sons Jerry (Chris) Wallace of Champaign, Illinois, Jim (Madolyn) Wallace of LaMoille, Illinois, and Jeff (Sally) Wallace of Walnut, Illinois; one daughter Judy Patton of San Diego, California; fourteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one sister Opal Smith of Lyndon, Illinois; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend Les Baumgartner of Walnut, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one great grandson, five brothers and one sister in infancy.

Funeral services will be held on Monday January 14 at 10 AM at the First Christian Church Walnut with Rev. Brian Moore, pastor officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded after the service. Burial of ashes will be in the Walnut Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4 to 6 PM at Garland Funeral Home in Walnut. A MEMORIAL HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED IN HER MEMORY TO THE FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH WALNUT AND THE WALNUT MANOR NURSING HOME. Condolences may be sent to www.garlandfuneralhome.com.
