Starla and Judd were acquaintances of ours when we stood in line at Ripps. We were saddened to hear of Starla's passing - We always enjoyed talking to both of them while we waited in line. I also took my Mother to Culvers and had the opportunity to talk with Starla over the years. She was a very cute little gal and we liked her very much. Our sincere sympathy goes out to all of you . . .

I was so shocked when I read of Starla's passing. On facebook she loved to share pictures of her family and was so proud of her children and grandchildren. Starla and I became friends in high school and we had good times together, how could you not with her personality. I still remember her laugh. We were in touch again through facebook but I did not know she was sick. I am deaply saddened by her loss and I will pray for her. I will also pray for you, her family. I am lucky to have known her. I am so sorry to hear about Starla. I grew up on a farm not to far from the Haefners. I usually hear about what is going on back in Illinois but did not know that Starla had been ill. May Jesus bring you peace at this time.

Starla will always be our brown eyed angel. She asked once if the band Roy was in played Van Morrison "Brown Eyed Girl" she said it was one of her favorites. They did play it and it will always be one of our favorites because she was one of the most beautiful brown eyed girls we knew. She will always be with us in our hearts. She was truly loved. Oh! Yes Roy was and always will be "Trouble". Roy & Linda

Melvin, Pam, Gene...and all other family members I have not met...I was stunned and saddened to hear of Starla's passing. So many years have gone by since we have seen each other, but I still keep track. Mom has moved to Walnut, so I still get up that way now and then. It always brings back memories to drive through the countryside around Harmon. Your family has endured more than its share with the passing of Bev, Rick, and now Starla. Please know that my thoughts are with you in this very difficult time...God Bless...Jerry Wallace

Melvin we lived not far from your farm. I knew your children and am sorry to hear of your lose. When you loose children it always leaves that hole in your heart. Pamela Garland always keeps in touch thru the newpapers in different areas. She always keeps me informed about whats happening to the people we lived around in Harmon. She informed me when your wife died and also about Rick. So you have my symphathy for all. And you know they are all where you cannot see them., But they are with you in your heart. Take Care. Melvin, Pam and Kim, I learned of Starla's passing recently from my mother. Even though many years have passed since I have been in contact with you, I was and still am very saddened by the news. Starla and your whole family were always very considerate of me through the years, and I will never forget Beverly consoling my daughter, Brooke, at my father's funeral. I think of you often, as I know your wonderfull family has incurred so much loss in recent years. Larry Lee, Minocqua, Wisconsin
