Gerald Laverne Lange, age 67, of 106 Harmon Road Walnut, Illinois died Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at his home in Walnut.
Gerald was born May 26, 1943 in Princeton, Illinois is the son of Virgil Harmon and Thirza Jane (Christensen) Lange. He was united in marriage to Ellen Kay Fordham on June 26, 1966 at the Walnut United Methodist Church in Walnut, Illinois. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam war as a mechanic. He farmed the Kegwin homestead for 41 years, was a member of the Walnut United Methodist Church, the Walnut American Legion Post #179 as an adjutant and a member of the Happy Hookers Fishing Club.
He is survived by his wife Ellen Lange of Walnut, Illinois, four aunts, Pearle Lange of Walnut, Illinois, Minnie Lange of Princeton, Illinois, Viola Lange of Princeton, Illinois, and June Lange of Princeton, Illinois; two sister in laws Norma Church of Sterling, Illinois, Karen Boyce of Walnut, Illinois and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and one great great nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Kathleen Eads, two granddaughters Amanda and McKenzie Eads.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 2 p.m. at Garland Funeral Home in Walnut Father Dan Wilder pastor of St. John’s Catholic Church of Walnut. Burial will be in Walnut Cemetery with full military rites conducted by the Walnut American Legion Post #179. Visitation will be held on Thursday 4 to 8 p.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut.
