June 26, 2010, Rockford, IL, Mary Alice Ryan died today after a short illness. She was 93 years of age. The daughter of Frank and Charlotte Quinn of Van Orin was born on February 8, 1917. She married Francis Ryan on December 1, 1945 in Ohio, IL at Immaculate Conception Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Francis Ryan in November 1981.
She is survived by her children Mrs.Lee ( Sharon) Carley, Beloit, WI., Mrs. James (Sheila) Bacorn, Santa Clarita, CA., Mrs. Dave (Sandy) Blum, Rockford, IL, and James Ryan, Rockford, IL. and six grand children Derek and Damon Carley, Theresa ‘Bacorn’ Cano, Jenni ‘Bacorn’ Dion and Matt Blum and Melissa “Blum” Myers and 9 great grand children and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary Alice attended Rosary College and taught school at Dixon State School, Amboy and Walton grade school during the 1960’s and 1970’s. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church of Ohio, CDA and Sodality organizations.
Visitation will be Wed. June 30th from 4:00 PM till 8:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:30PM. A prayer service will be held at 10:30AM Thursday at Garland Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, Ohio, IL with Father Dan Wilder presiding. Interment will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Maytown, IL.
