Vannie, Glad I bumped into you and Mike at the story awhile. Just wish now I had taken more time to chat. But we are all guilty of that I guesss. In the last few years I would occasionally run into him at Dexter and was able to catch up a bit with him. I have fond memories of playing with Mike when we were young. Did not always know what to expect but we managed to have a good time in little old New Bedford, without seriously hurting any of us. I was always envious of his God given talent for music. It just came so natural for him while the rest of us struggled or worked really hard. My Mom laughs now, but when she was den mother in cub scouts, the group of us were quite the handfull. Meeting would last just a few minutes before it turned into an all out free-for-all.I will miss him as I am sure you will too. God Bless

Vannie, Rick and family, My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you at this time. I have very fond memories of the times we spent together growing up in NewBedford, playing, horseback riding and just hanging out. We were all just like one big family always looking out for each other and usually getting into some sort of mischief. I had a very nice visit with Bob Boege last night remembering Mike and how he always had a way of making you smile. Bob said if I saw you to give you his condolences also. He will be greatly missed.

Vannie, Rick and family, Our family is thinking of you at this tough time in your lives. I have to agree with Theresa in everything she said. When you were a "NewBedfordite" , you were part of a big family. Take care and remember we are all thinking of you.

Vannie, I was deeply saddened to hear the news. My deepest sympathies go out to you. My mother (Margie) worked with you at the Manor for years. We lost my brother Alan last year and she asked me to let you know that she is thinking of you and praying for your family. She said it was the happy memories that have gotten her through. I was in many classes with Mike. I remember his laugh. His whole face lit up when he laughed. I have to admit, I may have helped him get into trouble a few times. I remember that I actually helped him get in trouble and he kept me out of trouble once. I was the one who used to write his excuses when he skipped school. I did it for years on the bus on the way to school. I remember one time he'd been sick and YOU actually wrote him an excuse. The principal thought the note was a fake because it was different handwriting than his usual notes. Mike got detention for it but never gave me up. We always laughed that he got into trouble when the note was really from his mom and all those years got away with it when they weren't. Sorry about that. He will be missed by many. Although it is so hard, now is not to be sad that he's no longer here but to enjoy all the joy that he brought to your family and others. We all need to remember that Mike is actually one of the lucky ones~we're all here waiting to be called home, he's already there.
