Stephen C. Broers, age 63, of Spring Hill, Florida and formerly of Tampico, died Sunday Jan 17, 2010 at Hernando Hospice House in Brooksville, Florida.
Steve was born May 10, 1946 in Princeton, Illinois, the son of Wesley G. and Mary Jane (Gesslein) Broers. He graduated from Tampico High School and Eureka College. He was an importer–exporter of building material and retired several years ago in Houston.
He is survived by his domestic partner Curt VanTine of Spring Hill, Florida; one sister Jane (Richard) Roesslein of Tampico, Illinois; one brother Wesley H. Broers of Sanford, North Carolina; one nephew Wesley Broers of Sanford, North Carolina; one niece Mary Jane (Michael) Verhulst of Sterling, Illinois and two great nephews Tyler Broers and Anderson Verhulst.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation rites were accorded. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday January 23, 2010 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Tampico, with Rev. Louis Tosto, pastor officiating. Burial of cremains will be in Walnut Cemetery. A MEMORIAL HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED IN HIS MEMORY TO ASSOCIATION FOR PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS.
