Walnut - Bill Warling, age 77, of 223 Liberty Street Walnut, Illinois died Friday, January 08, 2010 at the Walnut Manor Nursing Home.

Bill was born on February 21 1932 in Princeton, Illinois, the son Joseph and Dorotha (Hasenyager) Warling. He was united in marriage to Barbara Lowery on April 12, 1958 in Plainfield, Illinois. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He worked as a steel worker at Northwestern Steel in Sterling, Illinois for 31 years, retiring about 17 years ago. He was a member of the Walnut American Legion Post #179 for 50 years.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Warling of Walnut, Illinois; four daughters Becky (Terry) Renner of Ennis, Texas, Gail (Gary) Marit of Lewiston, Ohio, Mary Odell of Lacrosse, Wisconsin, Linda (Steve) Von Holten of Marshalltown, Iowa; one son Brian (Lisa) Warling of Chicago, Illinois; nine grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Cremation rites were accorded. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut with the Rev. Paul Nolden, pastor of Walnut Methodist Church, officiating.
