The passing of Frances' generation, and Frances in particular, carries such sadness for us. As your memories attest, we are privileged to share in their generation for many reasons. In more recent times, every generation has faced change, but our transforming world is made all the more interesting by virtue of having personal experiences with Frances and her view of herself in the world as it was during her lifetime. Frances and the Downey sisters are great people we can admire for their overriding sense of purpose, and how they live their lives. Real people doing right by their faith, family, and communities. Our reunion is a part of Aunt Frances' legacy to us. Thank you, Aunt Frances.

Aunt Frances, you were truly "one of a kind". We all enjoyed your special humor and remember such good times @ the farm. We also remember the stories--riding Snowball the horse, Dr. O'Malley, the country doctor making house calls in the dead of weather, the births and deaths, the one room school house, growing up on a farm during the depression and baking 12 loaves of bread in a wood burning stove before going to school and so much more... Thank you for being in our lives. Love, Margaret Coomes Heinzelmann

Dear Aunt Frances, Old buddy, the struggle is over and the good times begin. The memories made during my summers with you and Loyal will stick with me for a lifetime. They range, of course, from the silly to the fantastic. Every day was a happening of some kind. You both always made me feel safe, special and most of all enjoyed. Our times together were always full of food, family and fun. As I travel through this life I have grown to appreciate the great sacrifices made by you and Loyal, Mom and Dad, Belle and Ed, so that my siblings ,cousins and I could have the lives which we have had. I know you were greeted with open arms by many. We will meet again. Love, Calamity

Dear Auntie Frances, You are at rest now. You have left imprint on my life, Your were always loving, caring and had the Downey sense of humor. I have memories that will last my whole life. Family was always very important and that is what I learned from you and Mom and Dad. The mold was broke when you were made. You will be missed. But your spirit will live on in my memories. Aunt Frances, I always enjoyed visiting you in Walnut up until that time when that rotten little dog of yours Butch bit me, when I was 7. Now I have a rotten little dog of my own. When I think of you I always am reminded of birds, I think you always had one in the kitchen and you had fake ones too. Love you
