Walnut - Raymond Paul Peterson, age 68, of Walnut, Illinois died Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton, Illinois.

Ray was born June 12, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Robert and Ruth (Bakkers) Peterson. He worked at the Walnut Locker for 20 years as a meat cutter and most recently at Sullivan Foods in Princeton, Illinois. He enjoyed fishing and hunting in his earlier years.

He is survived by his son Dewey (Connie) Peterson of Andover, Illinois; seven grandchildren Carlie, Zach, Jacob, Nick, Cortney, Sara, Sarah; five great grandchildren; Levi, Josh, Elizabeth, Chloe, and Andrew; two brothers Roger (Ann) Peterson of Inverness, Illinois, Rick Peterson of San Diego, California and one niece Diane.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter Raelyn.

I will miss you, dear brother. I so much wanted to "get you fixed" so that you could walk in the woods and hunt and fish once more. We were weeks away from getting that second hip fixed. I love you dearly. God bless you in your new home.
