Danny W. Thompson, age 60, of 202 North Fifth Street, Walnut, Illinois died Tuesday at his home in Walnut.

Danny was born on September 1, 1949 in Princeton, Illinois the son of Joseph William and Phyllis J. (Gramer) Thompson. He was united in marriage to Bonnie McClearin on December 27, 1969 at the Como Baptist Church in Como. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He worked the past 16 years for Dietz Drainage in Walnut as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the NRA and Walnut American Legion Post #179. He enjoyed woodworking, puzzles and drawing.

He is survived by his wife Bonnie Thompson of Walnut, Illinois; one son William (Melissa) Thompson of Fort Leonardwood, Missouri; one granddaughter Shelby; two sisters Laurie (Randy) Full of Harmon, Illinois, Linda (Doug) Broers of Tampico, Illinois; three brothers Joe (Bee-Ja) Thompson of Walnut, Illinois, Mike (CC) Thompson of Harmon, Illinois, Edward Thompson of Walnut, Illinois; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Robert Thompson.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut with the Rev. Eldon Cook, pastor of the Walnut Bible Church, officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Cemetery. Bonnie, I am so sorry to hear about you loss. It has been so long since I have seen you, but think of you often of all the years growing up.
